The mission of the Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Science is to apply scientific knowledge and clinical application to improve human health and well-being and to prepare students to pursue graduate studies, pre-health professional degrees, and careers in public health and nutrition policy.

Catalog Full Description

The Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Science integrates theory and evidence-based research focusing on the physiological, biological, and behavioral aspects of human nutrition, emphasizing the role of nutrition in health maintenance and disease prevention. The program provides a comprehensive nutritional science curriculum and the foundation for integrating nutrition across disciplines. The Nutrition Science degree is a pathway for students to advance to graduate studies, pre-health professional degrees, dietetics, public health, and research.

Beginning January 1, 2024, a graduate degree will be the minimum degree requirement for those seeking to become eligible for the registration examination for dietitians. The BS in Nutrition Science at Parker University does not qualify students to write for the RD exam. Students will need to apply to an ACEND accredited MS degree program to become a Registered Dietitian.
