Program Student Learning Outcomes

The graduating student will be able to:

  • Apply nutritional science to improve health and wellness at the individual and community levels.

  • Analyze, synthesize, and evaluate scientific literature to make ethical, evidence-based decisions about nutrition.

  • Evaluate the ethical, cultural, and social factors that influence nutrition-related decision-making and food systems at the individual, community, and population levels.

  • Demonstrate skills and abilities as nutritional science and health researchers for post-graduate opportunities and/or entering the workforce.

Degree and Graduation Requirements

The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science requires a minimum of 120 semester credit hours of coursework which are as follows:

  • 31 Credit hours in General Education courses.

  • 15 Credit hours in elective courses.

  • 74 Credit hours in major required courses.

The Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences program must be completed within 15 terms.
