Program Student Learning Outcomes

The graduating student will be able to:

  • Interpret psychological theories and current trends in research related to sport psychology.

  • Discuss the legal and ethical issues in sport psychology and athletic performance.

  • Describe the physiological principles of athletic performance and the role of applied sport psychology in enhancing skills to improve athletic performance.

  • Analyze and apply techniques to improve athletic performance and enhance mental well-being.

  • Develop critical thinking and writing skills that describe empirical research.

Degree and Graduation Requirements

The Bachelor of Science in Sport Psychology requires a minimum of 121 semester credit hours of coursework which are as follows:

  • 34 Credit hours in General Education courses.

  • 18 Credit hours in elective courses.

  • 69 Credit hours in major required courses.
